The welfare, health and safety of your pet, while under our care, is our utmost priority. Our job consists of caring and enhancing the beauty of all our fuzzy clients! We strive to demonstrate our expertise every time we groom a pet.
We are a family owned business with strong roots in pet care services. Mom (Andrea) has a background as a Veterinary Assistant. Dad (Carlos) has been a groomer for 30 years. We have two young girls that are being raised in a pet oriented environment, with hopes that it sets a strong foundation for them to continue loving and caring for animals.
Is to provide the client with the style they want without causing unnecessary stress and anxiety to their pets. Each pet is unique and we will only suggest services that we believe are appropriate for his or her needs while keeping in mind that your pet will represent us anywhere he/she goes.
My name is Carlos and I was born in Puerto Rico. During my teenage years, I rode my bike to a pet store and grooming salon every day. I loved watching the groomers work and that's how my passion for this profession started. I became friends with the whole staff, but one day in 1993, the groomer I became close with, quit unexpectedly. The owner said he thought I had picked up enough skills and techniques just from being around the shop so much, so I was given a book with illustrations and breed specifications. I was also handed a pair of clippers and put to work grooming a beautiful buff colored Cocker Spaniel, named Rocco. Even today, I think of Rocco often.
By 1998, I was the top groomer in one of the busiest grooming salons in the area, grooming up to 20 dogs and cats every day.
In 1999, I was offered a job with another salon with better pay and benefits; since I had a son on the way, I felt I had no choice but to accept.
Two years later, we were shocked to find out the salon had burned down. Thankfully, I was welcomed back to work at the salon where I started my career when I was 15 years old, but the vibe had changed.
My ultimate goal was to have my own salon by 2004, so I went to work part-time as a groomer for about a year in a vet clinic and since I had many clients who followed me, I finally opened my own salon!
In 2005, Puerto Rico introduced their first ever sales tax. That, along with the downturn in the economy, made it hard for many of my customers to continue spending money on grooming their pets and I was forced to close my dream salon.
In April of 2007, I moved to Connecticut and within 2 weeks, I was hired as a groomer. My girlfriend followed me to Connecticut and I was able to marry the love of my life and have 2 beautiful daughters.
I realized the winter weather is not for a person born in the Caribbean, so we moved to the warmer weather of Texas.
After a few years of living here, I have fallen in love with the state and it's pets in the Katy area! We opened Houston's Fuzzy Tails as a mobile grooming service and after close to 4 years we now open Houston's Fuzzy Tails Grooming Salon right here in our community of Katy TX.
I love my work and promise to be dedicated to you and your pet.
Carlos.
